Privacy policy

Updated

Effective date: October 29, 2026

This policy explains what data Audio Test Tools (audiotesttools.com) handles and why. In short: the tools run in your browser, your audio and files never leave your device, and the site uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which use cookies.

No accounts

You don't need an account to use any tool, and the site never asks for your name, email address or other personal details.

Audio, microphone and files stay on your device

All tools process data locally in your browser. Sound from your microphone is analyzed on your device and is never uploaded to or stored on any server. The same applies to audio files you open in a tool.

Some tools keep data in your browser so you don't lose work, for example a recording you haven't downloaded yet. That data stays in your browser's storage on your device until you delete it in the tool or clear your browser data.

Your browser asks for permission before any tool can use the microphone. You can withdraw that permission at any time in your browser's site settings.

Settings saved in your browser

The site saves a few settings in your browser's local storage so they're there next time: for example the volume level, a tool's options, the color theme, and the tools you used last. These entries start with "audiotesttools:" and never leave your device. A note that you've seen the volume warning is kept for the current browser session only.

To remove them, clear the stored data for audiotesttools.com in your browser's privacy settings.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how it's used: which pages people visit, which tools they start and finish, and which browsers and devices they use. Tool events never include your recordings, anything you type, or the names of your devices. Google Analytics uses cookies. Google uses your IP address to estimate your general location, and Google Analytics 4 doesn't store it.

Advertising

The site shows ads from Google AdSense to pay for itself.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com).

Your consent choices

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message from Google, a certified consent management platform. Until you make a choice there, analytics and advertising cookies aren't used. Visitors from some US states can opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information through the same kind of message. You can change your choice later from the privacy settings option the message provides.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Children

The site isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
